Be Vigilant

*  Despite the large number of people opposing SB 5/Issue 2, everyone must remember to vote. If you have voted already, see if you can help get people to the polls.  This will not be over after the election.  Gov. Kasich, Shannon Jones, the Republicans, and their big corporate supporters will try pushing a similar bill like SB 5 if they lose on this one.

Here is what was reported on a private meeting Gov. Kasich had with Republicans:

Cleveland:

In a speech to about 200 mostly Republican supporters on Sept. 1, Gov. John Kasich told them that "we are at war with these people," meaning public employees. He said that he wished that they would just accept Senate Bill 5 because, if it is defeated as Issue 2 in November, he plans to "ram it through" anyway via other legislation. This was reported by the superintendent of the Southeast Local School District, near Dayton, who perhaps inexplicably had been invited to attend Kasich's talk.....

We must be vigilant on what happens after election day. Since Kasich indicated the would "ram it through" some other way, we've got to maintain our focus on the language used in  any future legislation. Check out the kinds of bills being worked on in the Ohio General Assembly, as well as those proposals being pushed by Gov. Kasich and Republicans.
