Ohio's 15th Choice: Kilroy or Bank Lobbyist

Ecopolitology is reporting U.S. Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15) is getting some help from the Sierra Club for her distinction of being one of their "environmental champions" in the elections.

>>I wonder how the farmers within Ohio's 15th congressional district feel about Republican Steve Stivers, a former bank lobbyist, and his plan to eliminate the Department of Agriculture?

Reminder: According to a survey that Republican Steve Stivers, a former bank lobbyist,
completed for the
Glenn Beck/912 group, Stivers wants to

1. Repeal the health care reform bill

2. Repeal the 16th Amendment to the Constitution

3. Repeal the 17th Amendment to the Constitution

4. Eliminate the Department of Agriculture

5. Eliminate the Department of Education

6. Eliminate the Department of the Interior

7. Eliminate the Department of Housing of and Urban Development

8. Eliminate the Department of Transportation

9. Eliminate the Department of Energy

10. Eliminate Department of Veterans Affairs

*** People are starting to realize that Kasich's planned roll back of Ohio's state income
tax would make other taxes within the state increase dramatically.  Kasich, who still has
not produced a written plan (or all his income tax returns) is keeping voters in the dark
about how what he plans to do with the coming budget.

Dispatch:

....Kasich stressed that Ohio needs lower taxes to attract more jobs....

....Kolodziej said if the income tax is eliminated, cutting more than 40
percent of state tax revenue, it will lead to local cuts, including to schools,
"causing local property taxes to explode."

Kasich, who seemed comfortable gambling with other people's money when he
worked with the now bankrupt Lehman Brothers, doesn't seem to get the fact
that his "no new taxes" pledge will cause a tremendous burden on cities and
counties within the state.  Kasich just doesn't care.
