While he served in the State Senate, Steve Stivers continued to protect banks and big business over the rights of consumers. He even voted against payday lending reform and sided with the payday lenders. With all the possible fraud being discovered in the recent foreclosures, we don't need to be protecting banks and bankers. When the federal government launches the fraud investigation into illegal and unnecessary home foreclosures by banks, do you want former bank lobbyist Steve Stivers blocking the investigation and legislation so that he can protect his banking buddies??????
In a new post on the widespread foreclosure fraud, the Huffington Post examines some of the issues.

More on the Chamber - * With Republicans and the Chamber of Commerce using foreign funds to prop up their candidates, voters have to worry that foreign entities/corporations are trying to control our elections. With no real agenda or ideas on how to fix problems in our nation, Republicans and their supporters at the Chamber of Commerce are infusing foreign money in their campaigns against Democrats. The ads that the Republicans are running in Ohio can only be characterized as smears and total fabrications. It just proves that Republicans and their cohorts at the Chamber of Commerce will go to any lengths to win elections.

The race for Ohio Secretary of State is heating up. Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessy is running against Jon Husted, current State Senator representing Kettering, even though he lives with his family in posh Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Politifact has taken apart Husted's claim that O'Shaughnessy raised her own pay:
....What all this means is that when O’Shaughnessy voted in favor of the 1998 ordinance to increase pay, there was no guarantee she would ever get the higher pay. She had to win re-election first.
That’s an important caveat that Husted’s ad doesn’t mention, and the point where Hustad’s attack comes unraveled.
She didn’t approve a pay raise for herself. She voted to increase pay for whomever was elected to take that council seat. The voters decided she should get the pay raise by re-electing her in 2001.
We rate Husted’s statement False.
