"No Position On That Issue"

Republican candidate John Kasich and his running mate, Mary Taylor, better start doing some studying.  Their standard answer for questions about issues they know nothing about is "No position on that issue...."  Duh!  When are they going to have a position?  Haven't they done their homework?  Is this why they have refused to answer questions in a public forum because they just plainly don't know much?

Here are some examples of the Kasich-Taylor "No Position" response:

(1) What is the position of  Kasich-Taylor on the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)?
Marietta Times: (October 12, 2010)

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and local officials recently questioned whether a John Kasich administration would be good for Appalachia....

...A release issued after the teleconference said Kasich supported a budget proposal in 1993 that would have frozen funding to the ARC and one in 1995 that would have eliminated it. The release says Taylor was asked whether the Kasich campaign had rethought its stance on the ARC and she answered by saying the campaign had not taken a position on it....

...The ARC is a federal-state partnership aimed at improving job opportunities, infrastructure and economic competitiveness in the Appalachian region. It covers parts of 13 states. In the call, Strickland noted the benefits of its funding for roads, sewer and water systems and schools....

(2) On October 8, 2010, the Daily Record reported on Kasich's response about a question on expanding gambling during a debate:

....Strickland has supported allowing slot machines, operated by the state lottery, at horse racing tracks. Kasich said he has not yet made up his mind on whether he would pursue a gambling expansion.

"I won't take a position on that yet," he said, adding, "I know that Ohioans are mixed in their own feelings on that, and so am I. And this is going to be an issue that we're going to spend some time thinking about."

(3)  A Dispatch article on so called "hot button" issues, had Kasich's response on gay adoptions:

...Kasich's not sure about Ohio law that allows gay couples to adopt children: "I'm really sort of uncertain about it ... I don't have a firm position on that."

As I pointed out on this blog on 9/26/10:

Kasich voted YES on banning adoption by gays in Washington, DC, according to Ontheissues:

Voted YES on banning gay adoptions in DC.

Vote on an amendment banning adoptions in District of Columbia by gays or other individuals who are not related by blood or marriage.
Reference: Amendment introduced by Largent, R-OK; Bill HR 2587 ; vote number 1999-346 on Jul 29, 1999

The "no position" mantra of John Kasich and Mary Taylor:
- No Kasich-Taylor position on the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).
- No Kasich-Taylor position on gambling expansion in the state.
- No Kasich-Taylor position on gay adoptions.

What other issues are the Kasich-Taylor team ignoring and therefore have "no position."  It might be time for the public to start asking Kasich some serious questions.  Has the campaign of Kasich-Taylor been lazy or are they just plain ignorant about issues that matter to Ohioans?

(NOTE:  Rumors are flying that if Kasich wins in Ohio, he will announce his intention to run for President, again.)
