Will Mandel debate?

••••  Sen. Sherrod Brown has accepted the debate invitation of the City Club of Cleveland for early October.  Twenty four hours later, the campaign of Republican Josh Mandel has yet to respond.  Is this too difficult for the Mandel campaign?

WKBN:

Ohio's elections chief is requesting access to a federal immigration database so elections officials can verify the citizenship of voters.

According to The Plain Dealer of Cleveland, Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted says the information would be valuable in rare cases when a voter's citizenship is called into question. Husted says the U.S. Department of Homeland Security database would not be used on a widespread basis.

The issue of voting rights is a hot topic these days. It's even taken center stage in the presidential election. President Barack Obama's campaign team has argued that GOP lawmakers are making it more difficult for certain groups to vote.....

This sounds ridiculously similar to the request by Florida Gov. Rick Scott.  Hmmm.  Where are Husted and Rick Scott getting their instructions on how to stop people from voting????
