* John Kasich wants to expand the school voucher program in Ohio (Kasich blog). That is a terrible idea. Have you heard what goes on in most of these charter schools??? Teachers have little or no experience. The school administrator is not really a qualified administrator (lacks the certification and experience). The buildings, former stores, church basements, and converted offices are inadequate for educating children and are not safe for children. Many charter schools are not properly equipped and often lack proper seating, tables/desks, blackboards, books, computers, maps, etc. I know you are asking yourself why would a charter school company not spend money on hiring experienced teachers and buying books, computers, maps, blackboards, etc. The less money the charter school spends, the more profit it makes. Why do Kasich and Republicans support charter schools? Kasich and the Republicans fear highly educated people.
* The Republicans want to renew the Bush tax cuts so that we can add trillions of dollars to our deficit. Rachel Maddow talked about the new right wing group called the League of American Voters. Maddow said that even the pictures on the website are from stock photos. The organization also is full of Republicans and their ilk.
