Friday's List

* Congratulations to our new Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, Elena Kagan!

* Some of Lehman's former employees are tapping the Lehman estate to pay for their legal fees. See the NY Times for details.

* What if Kasich is elected governor of Ohio?  Would he use the money for the Ohio Rail Project to give tax cuts to the rich instead of building the railroad?

* Democrat Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessy, candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, has received the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio.  Mary Ellen has received many awards including the Diocesan Service Award.

* Bush buddy and Bush family friend, Republican Rob Portman, has taken lots of campaign contributions from Big Oil.  Guess the oil industry knows that they can count on Republican Rob Portman, if he gets elected.

* Speaking of oil---- Has Republican candidate for Congress and BP stockholder, Steve Stivers mentioned anything yet about the oil spill in the Gulf?????  Stivers, a former bank lobbyist, has done very nicely raking in those campaign contributions from both individuals and PACs associated with oil, banking, financial concerns, and right wing political entities.
