Did I miss it? Is the election over?

John Kasich, Republican candidate for Ohio Governor and former managing director at the now bankrupt Lehman Brothers, is starting to act like himself---- an egocentric, braggart. Kasich has proposed abolishing the Ohio Department of Development with a board of advisers he would choose.

BusinessWeek:

...The new entity he proposes would energize Ohio businesses and be unimpeded by civil service regulations, Kasich told onlookers at Tarrier Steel Co. near downtown Columbus.

"So I hope when you leave here you'll tell people, no more bureaucrats, no more bungling, no more tripping over one another," Kasich said. "There's a new sheriff, there's a new guy who wants to say we're going to be sleek, and quick, and light on our feet, and innovative, and creative."

Kasich said, "There's a new sheriff...."  Excuse me.  I don't believe we've had the election yet.  Is Kasich crowning himself governor?
