Kasich Ready to Privatize

Just a short time ago, the Kasich campaign rolled out their first idea.

Dispatch:

In the first substantive proposal of the governor's race, Republican John Kasich today proposed replacing the Ohio Department of Development with a private, nonprofit corporation.

Kasich would create JobsOhio and appoint a 12-member board of directors to oversee economic development efforts by the state. The board would be comprised of current and former chief executive officers, including some from small companies. Members would come from different areas of the state and industry groups.

About half of the current department's 400 employees who are directly involved in development efforts would lose their jobs...

I wonder which Republican political donors will be picked for that 12-member board of directors. I don't know if I want my tax dollars supporting a private corporation.

By next week, Kasich probably will be rolling out plans to privatize the Department of Transportation (He'd just give it to Kokosing because they are huge GOP contributors.), the Department of Insurance (Which major insurance company could run and oversee this department?), the Department of Education (Would Kasich give the keys to Husted's friend, Brennan?), and other various sections of the state government.

Is this like Bob Taft's idea to privatize the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation investments with Tom Noe and the "Coingate" scandal?

Kasich's Jobs Ohio is similar to an existing website called http://www.ohiojobs.com/.

Why am I not surprised that Kasich is already starting to outsource our jobs?
