Filibuster
The Republicans are involved in a filibuster against the nomination of Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense. The Republicans want 60 votes for approval. It is odd because for the nomination of John Ashcroft for Attorney General in 2001, Ashcroft got 58 yes votes, and was confirmed (U.S. Senate: http://tinyurl.com/29u8j).
Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator from Texas, should be ashamed of himself for his attempt to smear the reputation of decorated military veteran, Chuck Hagel. Even MSNBC host, Joe Scarborough was disgusted with Ted Cruz's insinuations. See this MSNBC link.
