This and That...

* Today I was on Interstate 71 heading south toward Cincinnati.  Imagine my surprise when I heard a radio ad from a right wing group that was repeating all the lies that have been put out there by Josh Mandel.  I started yelling at the radio, and finally had to change the radio station. (I was too far from Columbus to get WVKO and the Stephanie Miller Show.)

* Josh Mandel's tax plan is just like Romney's--- more tax cuts for the rich.  That doesn't create jobs, it only makes the rich richer.

I love what President Obama said the other day about the Republicans and their trickle down economics---

CBS News:

President Obama on Thursday once again slammed Mitt Romney for his budget proposal, telling supporters at an Orlando, Fla., campaign event that Republicans "have tried to sell us this trickle-down, tax cut fairy dust before."

"Guess what," the president said, "it didn't work then; it will not work now."

The president has seized on a new report from the Tax Policy Center, which concludes that in order to enact his proposed tax cuts without adding to the deficit, middle- and lower-income households would end up paying more in taxes while the rich would benefit. On the campaign trail, Mr. Obama has charged that Romney is running for president so "people like him" can pay less in taxes....

President Obama is right.  The Republican "fairy dust" of trickle down economics never worked. It didn't work under George W. Bush because he only created 1 million jobs during his two terms. Bill Clinton's administration created 23 million jobs. How many jobs have been created by President Obama?  ABC News has the quote from President Obama:

“This morning we learned that our businesses created 172,000 new jobs in the month of July. That means that we’ve now created 4.5 million over the last 29 months and 1.1 million new jobs so far this year,” Obama said. “Those are our neighbors and family members finding work and the security that comes with work.”

****  I want to know which loon decided that MSNBC should have Michael Medved as a guest. Medved hogs the time and he belongs on Fox.
