>>>> Republican Josh Mandel released yet another ad for his campaign in which "boots" are the main topic. Josh Mandel's reluctance to speak on issues is rattling a lot of voters, especially women. Since Mandel refused to voice his support for fair pay for women and the VAWA legislation (Violence Against Women Act), people are wondering what is his agenda, other than the usual right wing talking points.
In September 2011, Josh Mandel was part of a group of candidates that spoke at a Tea Party Express event. The rally was held in Avon, Ohio, and some of the speakers would be considered controversial by a majority of Ohioans.
2PressPapers (9/6/11):
...The Tea Party Express, a national conservative bus tour, held a Saturday rally at All Pro Freight Stadium with several hundred local Tea Party supporters showing up to absorb and support the group’s politically conservative themes – among them that Barack Obama must be stopped and government must live within its means.
Paul Schiffer, a radio talk show host and author of the Schiffer
Report, served as the master of ceremonies, introducing such preshow
speakers as Apostle Claver Kamau-Imani, a religious speaker who called
upon minorities to re-examine their values and pave the way for
America’s second emancipation; Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher;
and State Treasurer Josh Mandel, among others.
“I’m one of the few people on talk radio who’s not afraid to call Obama what he is,” Schiffer roared to kick off the rally, “a Marxist and a communist.”
* Republican Josh Mandel, the Republican candidate that went all the way to the Bahamas for campaign cash from the payday lenders convention, filled out a survey on 1/19/12 for the Cincinnati Right to Life group. The survey is on the web (Josh Mandel (R) pdf):
I guess we can surmise that if you are a victim of rape or incest, Josh Mandel believes that you should not have access to an abortion. Josh Mandel must be following the Rick Santorum advice that a rape/incest victim make the best out of this bad situation (see ThinkProgress).
