To repeal SB 5, Vote NO

*  The wording for the ballot issue on the repeal of the Kasich/Republican legislation that attacks the middle class has been decided.

Toledo Blade:

When voters go to the polls on Nov. 8 to give a thumbs up or down on Ohio's new law limiting collective bargaining by government workers, a vote of "yes" will mean "yes" and "no" will mean "no."

Voters should vote no on Issue 2 in order to repeal SB 5.

Vote No on Issue 2.

*  Has anyone else noticed that Republican Rep. Steve Stivers has been very active in proposing legislation that helps banks?  In the list of bills sponsored by Steve Stivers at his House website, it is clear that Stivers has a specific agenda:

1. H.R.1539 : Asset-Backed Market Stabilization Act of 2011
2. H.R.2214 : Debt Elimination By Tax-Deductible Contribution Act of 2011
3. H.R.2439 : Removing GSEs Charters During Receivership Act of 2011
 4. H.R.2779 : To exempt inter-affiliate swaps from certain regulatory requirements put in place by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Stivers has not sponsored one bill that creates jobs or to stop Ohio's 15th Congressional District from bleeding jobs. According to Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, several major employers that are located in Ohio's 15th congressional district, have announced WARN notices (planned layoffs).  Here are some companies and the number of layoffs from the 15th district as noted at ODJFS:
(This is a partial list below.)

Date Received......Company............City (County)........# Layoffs
7/06/11...............Nexergy, Inc.....Columbus (Franklin).....120
5/27/11.............Flextronics Am....Columbus (Franklin)...113
5/27/11...........Gates, McDonald, & Co....Columbus (Franklin)...113
5/19/11..............HearUSA..............Dublin (Franklin)....10
5/04/11..............Kroger...................Columbus (Franklin)...91
4/15/11.............Palmetto GBA.....Columbus (Franklin)...92

While people are losing jobs, Stivers and Ohio Gov. John Kasich appear to be doing nothing to stop the outflow of jobs or bring new jobs into the state.

Stivers also has finally released his financial disclosure which is available at the U.S. House Clerk's website.
