Friday!!!!!!!

* People are outraged about the attack on the man suffering from Parkinson's Disease by the people from the Americans for Prosperity and tea party groups. The Dispatch has more details.

44-Diaries has more about the confrontation earlier this week.

* The SpringfieldNews-Sun has another one of those John Kasich interviews where he refuses to say what cuts he'll make if elected Ohio's Governor:

Republican John Kasich can talk at length about what he thinks Ohio needs to do to get out of the economic ditch — phase out the state income tax, reform regulations, cut government spending — but the gubernatorial candidate is reticent about the details......

....Critics of a pending GOP bill to phase out the income tax over 10 years say it would wipe out 45 percent of the general revenue fund, triggering massive cuts to state government. Policy Matters Ohio of Cleveland noted that closing all prisons, chopping state aid to higher education and eliminating property tax relief still would not account for the revenue that would be lost if Ohio got rid of its income tax....

.....Kasich, a former Lehman Brothers investment banker, Fox News show host and congressman, has proposed cutting government spending, although he won’t say which state programs will feel the pain....

It sounds to me like the Ohio newspaper reporters are getting tired of not getting any answers from Kasich. How many times can we hear the same story and still not get any new details?

Meanwhile, another group of teachers are concerned about Kasich's plans to eliminate the state income tax (WHIZ.com) and withdraw funds from education.

* There are probably some people grumbling in Columbus. Dispatch:

If Ohio lawmakers want to get reimbursed for traveling to and from their homes, many argue they need to actually go home.

But with some questioning whether that is happening in all cases, the Ohio House voted 91-6 last week for a bill that would require lawmakers to actually travel to Columbus from their residence in order to get travel reimbursements.

Any lawmaker living outside Franklin County is eligible for a once-a-week reimbursement for mileage traveled. For a number of lawmakers, it adds up to more than $3,000 a year.....

Just a quick check of the comment section shows that people are incensed with the reimbursement program. As the article indicates, two Republicans, Jon Husted, and Karen Gillmor appear to be overdoing the who travel reimbursement situation. Husted represents Kettering, but boldly lives in Upper Arlington with his wife and kids. Gillmor, represents Tiffin, but actually spends 99% of her time in Dublin, Ohio. If we really want to save money for the state, why not cut this reimbursement program? The state could save a boatload of money!

** Republican Steve Stivers has his own YouTube channel. I just can't get past his turtleneck and his strange singsongy voice. Does he think he is reading a story to children?
