Republicans Trying to Distance Themselves

There are a number of stories this morning about Republican candidates who are trying to distance themselves from President Bush. This is just another example of the Republicans trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Take for example Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce (OH-15). Pryce is the 4th ranking Republican in Congress. You get to a position of power for following the party line AND pledging loyalty to your party leader, in this case, President Bush.

This new tactic of Pryce's and other Republicans calling themselves "independent" is just a bunch of baloney. If re-elected, Pryce and the rest of the GOP candidates will just get back in their Bush/Republican mindset: obey the party mantra, follow the President's agenda, obey Karl Rove, disregard the voters, take money from big business PACs/lobbyists, continue to associate themselves with unsavory people like Jack Abramoff and Tom DeLay and Bob Ney.

The Republicans control the government and they STILL can't get anything accomplished. If workers are ineffective, they usually lose their jobs. Republicans deserve to lose their elections because they are completely inept.
