Still No Republican Candidate for Ohio's 15th

With the impending retirement of Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce (OH-15), there have been no formal announcements for Republican candidates for the open seat of the 15th district. Jim Petro and Greg Lashutka have taken their names out of consideration. Who is left? Why hasn't a Republican stepped forward to save the seat? Are they too absorbed in their own lives?

> Former Columbus Mayor Buck Rinehart's name has been talked about by some GOPers. However, his DUI in 1995 might not be an attractive topic in this time of other Republican scandals.

> Then there is Former Rep. John Kasich who is an extreme right winger and big Bush supporter. Would he give up his lucrative speaking gigs to work in the House again?

> Franklin County Commissioner Dewey Stokes is well known, but with his advanced age, would he be able to keep up with the travel schedule and workload of a member of Congress.

I'd bet that even as I write this, the Ohio Republicans are making phone calls trying to find a candidate. How long will it take?
