The Paul Ryan Budget

On THE ED SHOW on MSNBC this evening, Ed Schultz outlined the cuts that the Paul Ryan budget plan would make:

Ryan Budget Gets Rid of...
  Medicare As It Exists Now
  Medicaid coverage for elderly and disabled
  Health care coverage for 30 million Americans

and----

Ryan Budget Cuts Spending On...
* Food Stamps
* Housing Assistance
* Farm Subsidies
* Federal Workers
* Transportation
* Science Programs
* Education Services
* Prisons
* Border Control
* Student Loans
* FEMA
* Unemployment

The Paul Ryan budget plan provides
$3 trillion in tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy

Republican Rep. Paul Ryan said that the Republican presidential nominee will support this budget.  If the Republicans control the House and the Senate, and with a Republican in the White House, this draconian budget would be law. Paul Ryan's beliefs and devotion to Ayn Rand have influenced this budget.

If you elect a Republican President, grandma, and grandpa will not get the Medicare they have now.  A Republican President would support the Ryan budget and your disabled cousin will lose Medicaid.

Paul Ryan gives out books by Ayn Rand to his employees and everyone he meets.  How does Paul Ryan's adoration of Ayn Rand figure into his budget plan?  In Paul Ryan's budget, the poor, the elderly, the struggling are left without any help.  However, Paul Ryan rewards the rich and corporations.  This follows along the philosophy of Ayn Rand.

In an article posted on March 5th at Common Dreams, George Monbiot provides the basics of Ayn Rand's beliefs:

It has a fair claim to be the ugliest philosophy the postwar world has produced. Selfishness, it contends, is good, altruism evil, empathy and compassion are irrational and destructive. The poor deserve to die; the rich deserve unmediated power. It has already been tested, and has failed spectacularly and catastrophically. Yet the belief system constructed by Ayn Rand, who died 30 years ago today, has never been more popular or influential.....

...Through her novels (such as Atlas Shrugged) and her nonfiction (such as The Virtue of Selfishness) she explained a philosophy she called Objectivism. This holds that the only moral course is pure self-interest. We owe nothing, she insists, to anyone, even to members of our own families. She described the poor and weak as "refuse" and "parasites", and excoriated anyone seeking to assist them. Apart from the police, the courts and the armed forces, there should be no role for government: no social security, no public health or education, no public infrastructure or transport, no fire service, no regulations, no income tax.....

...Rand's is the philosophy of the psychopath, a misanthropic fantasy of cruelty, revenge and greed...

This Ayn Rand belief system has been embraced by Paul Ryan and his Tea Bagger Republicans.  We cannot allow this horrible budget to become law.  Call your Senators and your Representative and tell them "NO!" on the Paul Ryan budget. This budget is un-American.

Re-Elect President Obama, and vote for every Democrat on the ballot.
