Just the Facts

****  The vote on Rep. Paul Ryan's budget took place on Thursday, March 29th.  The Paul Ryan budget gives huge tax cuts to the wealthy, gives vouchers instead of Medicare to seniors, and wipes out funding for many programs.  Here are the Ohio politicians that voted in favor of that budget, as recorded by the Clerk of the House of Representatives:

H CON RES 112: Roll Call Vote 151:
Steve Austria
Steve Chabot
Bob Gibbs
Bill Johnson
Jim Jordan
Steve LaTourette
Jim Renacci
Jean Schmidt
Steve Stivers
Pat Tiberi
Mike Turner

It doesn't even reduce the deficit, but it will make the rich richer, and the rest of us poor.  Nice going, Republicans!  You definitely just don't care about anyone but yourselves and your rich contributors.

* Sen. Sherrod Brown's work to save a plant and jobs has been successful.  The Hugo Boss manufacturing plant is up, running, and has hired additional workers.

PlainDealer:

Workers at Hugo Boss have signed a three-year contract with the company, signaling the union's well-publicized efforts to keep the plant from closing in 2010 were more than fleeting.

Confirmation of the contract came Friday from Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who attended a celebration at the men's suit manufacturing facility this morning. The Workers United union is scheduled to hold a press conference Friday afternoon to discuss the agreement.

"Twenty months ago this place was going to close," he said. "It is a terrific victory for Cleveland that the workers were able to sign a three-year contract."

Once again we see evidence of how Sen. Sherrod Brown works to keep job in Ohio. An update on the story from Newsnet5 indicates that the Hugo Boss plant will be adding new employees.  Thank you, Sen. Sherrod Brown.
