Stivers

Don't be fooled!  Republicans are trying to characterize Republican candidate, Steve Stivers as a moderate.  Stivers was described by the Columbus Dispatch as a "top" bank lobbyist.  He represented Bank One (now part of Chase Bank) and fought against regulations proposed by state legislators.  Stivers fought against regulations and rules that protected citizens.  As a member of BankPAC, he worked with other bankers in Ohio and across the country to protect the profits of banks and the huge bonuses of CEO's and lobbyists.

Plunderbund did a great job of summarizing Steve Stivers and his embracing of far right, radical ideas, like his plan to repeal the 17th Amendment to the Constitution:

....Stivers also proposes getting rid of the U.S. Department of the Interior, Housing, Agriculture, Education, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, and Energy.

Stivers also indicated that he would support replacing the income tax with a sales tax, support the elimination of automatic withholding of taxes, eliminate the ability of family members to petition the government to allow the legal immigration of their family members, and eliminate statutory authority giving environmental groups standing to bring lawsuits on behalf of the public....

Why would Stivers want to eliminate Veterans Affairs?????  He is a veteran.

By the way, you absolutely must read Plunderbund's post on Kasich's accessibility.  It is an "OMG!" story. (Plunderbund Link)
