....However, the federal money currently is tied up in the state's two-year $7.5 billion transportation budget proposal, which is stuck in negotiations between the Democratic-controlled House and the Republican-controlled Senate. A number of thorny issues remain, including a disagreement over who will get eventual authority to approve a passenger rail project along major cities...
...Strickland said the money would create an estimated 21,257 jobs and go to the following projects:
_$603.5 million for 113 road projects.
_$34.5 million for five improvement projects along the state's waterways, including at the Port of Toledo.
Come on, Ohio GOP!!!! We need to get people back to work.
>>>> Call me a skeptic, but is Boehner holding up just a title page or is that a full report in his hand in the picture posted at CNN? Boehner says the whole thing will be unveiled next week. I guess that will give them time to write it.
Here is a gem from Republican Rep. Mike Pence from the CNN story:
...Rep. Mike Pence, R-Indiana, said Wednesday he hoped Congress would adopt the GOP alternative, but admitted, "It's not likely."
But, Pence said, he will always believe "that a minority in Congress plus the American people equals the majority."
NEWS FLASH FOR MIKE PENCE!!!!!!!!
The American people voted in a huuuuuuuuuge majority for President Obama, for change, and for Democrats. The majority of the American people did NOT side with or support the Republicans. Therefore, do not, under any circumstances, count a majority of the American people siding with the Grand Obstructionist Party or Republicans.
