We support our troops!

Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce doesn't seem to get it. All Americans support our troops. We honor them and respect their service and sacrifice. We want them to receive the pay they deserve, and receive it on time. We want them to have the best body armor and protection. We want their medical needs taken care of in a safe and timely manner. We want their families honored and respected for their sacrifice. And, God forbid, if we lose our service members, we want them to have peaceful burials without people yelling outside their funerals. However, we do not support the policies of this administration that have our troops fighting in Iraq in a war that George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and the rest of the Neo-Cons wanted.

Pryce can talk all she wants about supporting the troops and getting them pay raises, but has SHE really supported our troops? Support is more than just talking about it. Actions speak louder than words. As of this moment, according to Iraq Casualties, Ohio has lost 108 of our family members in Iraq. Our nation, according to Iraq Casualties, has lost 2432 of our loved ones.

Has Pryce really supported our troops? Link:
  • Rep. Pryce voted to continue awarding contracts to Halliburton even if the Pentagon's own audit processes found that more than $100 million of their contractor's costs in Iraq were unreasonable.
  • Rep. Pryce opposed expanding access to the military's TRICARE health insurance program to thousands of Reservist and National Guard members, even though 20 percent of all Reservists do not have health insurance, and 40 percent of Reservists aged 19 to 35 lack health coverage.
  • Rep. Pryce voted against granting a bonus to grant a $1,500 bonus to every American service member serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, including National Guard and Reserve forces.
