Republican Legacy in Ohio: Lost Jobs, Corruption

We all remember that First Lady Laura Bush came to Columbus, Ohio, to give a speech to support Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce (OH-15). However, we need to examine what Mrs. Bush said and the reality of life in Ohio. I've taken some excerpts from Mrs. Bush's speech and paired them with facts:

She represents your values and your priorities: to create jobs and economic
opportunity for every person in Ohio, to protect our nation, and to help
all of our children grow up to be healthy and successful.

>Ohio has lost 200,000 jobs. LINK

Deborah stands with the Ohio families who have sacrificed so much for
the cause of freedom.
LINK
  • Rep. Pryce voted to continue awarding contracts to Halliburton even if the Pentagon's own audit processes found that more than $100 million of their contractor's costs in Iraq were unreasonable.
  • Rep. Pryce opposed expanding access to the military's TRICARE health insurance program to thousands of Reservist and National Guard members, even though 20 percent of all Reservists do not have health insurance, and 40 percent of Reservists aged 19 to 35 lack health coverage.
  • Rep. Pryce voted against granting a bonus to grant a $1,500 bonus to every American service member serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, including National Guard and Reserve forces.

>Ohio has lost 108 of our men and women in Iraq. LINK

She knows how Washington works, and she always remembers that her employers are right here
in the 15th
District.

>Correct! She knows how to get that money from lobbyists and throw those big fundraisers in Hawaii,
in Vail, and at all those golf courses. Does Pryce represent YOUR views? I know she doesn't represent
mine. Don't you think its time we fired Pryce?

*Note: I don't even need to elaborate on the corruption that the Republicans have used in the
government in the state of Ohio: Taft, Ney, Noe, Blackwell, Petro, etc., etc.
