Ohio School Funding a Mess

The Ohio Legislature was ordered by the State Supreme Court to fix the way that schools are funded in Ohio. However, the Republican controlled state government is more interested in passing laws against gays, collecting money from Tom Noe, and doing nothing that helps schools. When an Ohio school district cannot pass a levy, cuts must be made, and that means teachers, books, and programs must be cut. South-Western Schools will need to lay off 106 teachers, 130 classified employees, 10 administrators to slash $13 million from their budget.

This lack of effort on school funding by Ohio Republicans shows that Republicans are completely inept. They continue to hurt children and taxpayers by pushing their worthless voter ID laws and other empty legislation. The citizens in Ohio need to vote for more competent Democratic lawmakers.
