For two months, rookie Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland and the Republican-controlled Legislature have been mostly comfortable with each other. This week, the honeymoon ends.
On Wednesday, Strickland lays out his vision for Ohio for the next two years in his State of the State speech. The next day, he puts that vision in writing when he releases his $50-billion-plus budget — money for everything from schools to locking up criminals to keeping parks clean....

ODJS: Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.3 percent in January, down from 5.6 percent in December, according to data released this morning by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Ohio's nonfarm wage and salary employment decreased 12,000 over the month, from 5,442,800 in December to 5,430,800 in January.....
