It appears that the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives threw a tantrum this week. First, the Democrats and Republicans voted
for HRES 1113 (House Vote 274), which the
Washington Post reports was a resolution
"Celebrating the Role of Mothers in the United States and Supporting the Goals and Ideals of Mother's Day." This was on May 7, 2008 at 2:19pm. Then, at 2:27pm, a re-vote on the same
HRES (Vote 275),
178 Republicans voted against the Mother's Day Resolution.

I'm not exactly sure why they did this, but these 178 Republicans insulted American mothers. With what appears to be a safe, symbolic resolution honoring mothers, these Republicans instead flipped flopped and finally
voted against mothers!!! Are they out of their minds???????
