Those of us that follow politics are aware of the election for New York's congressional district 23. Democrat Bill Owens is facing two opponents --- Republican Dede Scozzafava and Conservative Doug Hoffman. Hoffman has received the endorsement of Sarah Palin, Fred Thompson, and tea baggers.
Now the Washington Times (the far right newspaper) is reporting that a similar far right candidate has emerged for Ohio's 15th district race. Although this would probably not take votes away from Democratic Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy, it could cost Republican Steve Stivers some votes. Republican Stivers is a former bank lobbyist.
Washington Times:
...In Ohio, conservative challenger David Ryon is running on the Constitution Party ticket in a race with incumbent Democratic Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy and state Sen. Steve Stivers, a Republican....
Could this be the beginning of a split within the GOP? Will other far right, conservative, teabag-leaning, candidates emerge?
