I'll Always Love My Buckeyes

* The Ohio State USC game was very exciting. Even though the Buckeyes did not win, it was pure insanity in the stadium. Besides an incredible crowd of over 106,000 people, celebrities like former Buckeyes Chris Carter, Michael Redd, Santonio Holmes, as well as stars like Will Farrell and Vince Vaughn, were on the sidelines. Win or lose, I'll always support my Buckeyes! Go Bucks!

* There have been some hotly contested issues that have seen some ads on TV. Ads for and against casino gambling in Ohio have been seen and heard over and over again on television and radio. I sincerely hope that we get casino gambling in Ohio because it is a sensible way to bring additional revenue and jobs to the state.

* Everyone has been talking about the disrespectful outburst made by the Republican Congressman from South Carolina. Many of us have been recognizing the ugly head of racism coming from Republicans and the right.

* Some people from the religious right and the Ohio GOP are trying to stop slot machines from appearing at Ohio racing tracks. These Republican righties keep filing lawsuits like the one described in the Springfield News. I think what the Ohio Republicans are trying to do is stop any chance for Gov. Ted Strickland from actually bringing back an economic recovery for Ohio. The GOP will do anything to stop any progress in the state so that if Ohio heads into the abyss, they can blame it on Strickland. Meanwhile, the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing.

* Meanwhile, it appears that Republican candidate for Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, who lives in Upper Arlington, Ohio, but represents Kettering, has been spending lots of his spare time touring all 88 Ohio counties for his campaign. Exactly how much time does he spend in Kettering?
