WTOL-TV is reporting that candidates for Ohio's 15th congressional district, Democrat, Mary Jo Kilroy, and Republican, Steve Stivers raised nearly the same amount of money for the last quarter. For those of you who don't know much about the 2006 election, it is important to note that Kilroy lost to Republican Deborah Pryce by only 1,006 votes.
Most of Kilroy's financial support is coming directly from individuals. However, Republican Stivers, a former bank lobbyist, is receiving a majority of his contributions from PACs representing banks, insurance companies, and other one issue groups. (In these troubling economic times and foreclosures increasing everyday, how can anyone support a person who is a former bank lobbyist?)
If you really want to bring change to Washington, you can help by providing support for Mary Jo Kilroy. With Kilroy in the House of Representatives, people will be more important than pharmaceutical PACs, oil companies, and financial institutions. Kilroy aims to change the way Washington works, create good jobs and a strong economy, make health care affordable and available, and work toward energy independence.
If you are looking to really support a candidate that will help bring change to our country, drop in and contribute to Kilroy for Congress.
