Ponder This

*Looks like Karl Rove made a visit to Ohio last night. Coshocton Tribune:

Karl Rove has been a lightning rod for controversy in the camp of President George W. Bush.

But even with a few protesters holding signs at the entrance to the McDonald-Marlite Center here, Rove was unflappable amidst the partisan crowd Wednesday night as the keynote speaker for the Tuscarawas County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner.....

I'm so glad I missed him.

*The FBI has been busy investigating another Republican lawmaker. The Fresno Bee:

The FBI raided the Virginia home of Rep. John Doolittle and his wife on Friday, executing a search warrant for materials related to Julie Doolittle's company, Sierra Dominion Financial Services.

The raid was believed to be in connection with the ongoing federal investigation of the political corruption scandal stirred by disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a one-time Republican star who last year pleaded guilty to three felony charges of defrauding Indian tribes and corrupting political officials.

Abramoff had a close friendship with the Doolittles. The congressmen aided several of his clients, and Julie Doolittle worked for the high-profile lobbyist....

*Sen. John McCain says he supports "no gun control." Huffington Post: Republican presidential candidate John McCain declared Wednesday he believes in "no gun control," making the strongest affirmation of support for gun rights in the GOP field since the Virginia Tech massacre....

It seems that the more McCain talks, the less attractive he appears as a candidate.
