Standing on prejudice....

*** Those people voicing their opposition to President Obama's support of marriage equality certainly are loud, but they are still wrong.  These same people against marriage equality are also against--- women's rights, voting rights, public schools, low interest rates for college loans, the separation of church and state, diversity, etc., etc.

>>>>>  Republican candidate Josh Mandel, the nearly absent Ohio Treasurer, as a member of the Ohio House, voted against

H.B. 176 in 2009 that, according to the OLSC (Ohio Legislative Service Commission): Prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity

H.B. 108 in 2010, a bill that would make cockfighting a felony.  Even though Mandel voted against the legislation, the bill passed.  Is Mandel for animal cruelty?

••••  Gov. John Kasich had some sharp words for local governments, according to Cincinnati.com:

State money will not be restored for local governments, Gov. John R. Kasich told The Enquirer in a wide-ranging discussion with the newspaper’s editorial board and reporters.....

....Last summer, Kasich’s office announced cuts to the state’s local government fund – hundreds of millions of dollars divvied between the state’s cities, villages and townships each year, representing 3.68 percent of the state’s operating budget. Communities spend the money as they see fit.

Today, they get 75 percent of what they’ve traditionally received and in July they’ll lose another 25 percent. Kasich didn’t waffle on the topic, even in light of a predicted state surplus.....

I guess Kasich has to cover all those funds he gives to his cronies in tax cuts and incentives. Diebold received millions from Kasich, but as Plunderbund reported, they are eliminating jobs.  Cronyism is alive and well in Ohio----if you are friends with Kasich and Mandel.
