While Kasich promotes himself....
It is no secret that Gov. John Kasich has been promoting himself and the non-existent 'Ohio miracle.' Unfortunately, Kasich's focus has left the state continues to lose more jobs. The good people at Plunderbund have the details:
...While Gov. Kasich has been away pushing a federal balanced budget amendment and unsuccessfully trying to boost his name recognition, which hoovers barely above zero, Goodyear, headquartered in Ohio, decided to go play in another country. Since Congressman Kasich voted for NAFTA, he shouldn’t have been surprised to learn the company said it will build its new $550 million state-of-the-art tire plant in Mexico instead of Akron....
Kasich seems to be unable to save jobs like the 1000 that disappeared at Ormet, but he is capable of giving money to CEO cronies to keep 10-30 jobs. It just doesn't make sense. The jobs that have come to Ohio are low paying (as in Walmart), and part-time. You cannot support a family on a minimum wage, part-time job. Period.
